Create a Project Day 3: Reviewing a Weekend Activities

KD, BC, and SP: Today we spent our morning in downtown Portsmouth explore local shops and restaurants that could be great options for weekend activities. We enjoyed “flatbread pizza” and recommend that Portsmouth be hard for weekend activities. Next, we traveled to concord where we went Altitude trampoline park and also recommend this for weekend activities.

Create a Project Day 2 Reflections

First Day Helping the Community

BK, SP, and KD: "Today we spent the morning helping the kitchen staff clean up after breakfast. We learned a little about the cleaning process and what it takes to help keep the cafe clean and sanitary. Next, we went to the admissions office where we split into small groups of 2 or 3 and filmed videos to welcome accepted students. To end the day we regrouped and walked to the local elementary school and helped clean their student pickup zone."

SR, ER, BT, and AL: "On Tuesday we traveled to the elementary school and raked leaves and cleaned the bus pathways. We also cleaned tables in the cafeteria helping the kitchen staff and connecting with new Hampton community members."

KO and CK: "We enjoyed our time giving back to the community by filming videos for the students who got accepted to go to New Hampton next year. It was fun to film these videos because we know how hard it can be to choose a school to spend your next 4 years in, with these videos we could at least help the students have more of an idea of what New Hampton is like."

KW, LR, and TM: "One thing our group enjoyed was making a video for admissions that’ll be sent to potential huskies. In addition, we washed down the tables after breakfast. Cleaning the tables taught us to appreciate our chefs and kitchen staff and all the great things they do that go unrecognized."

Day 1: Create A Project

Rubber Hits Pavement, A Day of Planning

After running through a few project possibilities and learning the difficulties of planning a successful project, the Create a Project shifted their focus. Taking on projects that will help the New Hampton School community, the immediate area, and future New Hampton students.

After cold calling, planning travel logistics, and managing budgetary constraints, the group is ready to work and help out wherever they can.
