Day 3: More fun with the 1st and 2nd grade classes!

Today we taught the second graders how to make Ojos de Dios, a simple activity involving wrapping yarn around popsicle sticks. The kids enjoyed it a lot!

Next, we had a lot of fun with the first graders, making elephants toothpaste to demonstrate chemical reactions.

First grade also had fun making slime. Everyone’s hands got a little colored, but they all left happy with their slime.

Day 2: Tortillas and pasta

In the morning, we visited a second grade class at the local elementary school. We lead a tortilla decorating activity based on the story the kids are reading.

Day 1: Fun with Mrs. Seavey's 1st grade class

New Hampton students discussed cultures around the world with Mrs. Seavey's 1st grade class at the elementary school down the road.

Karen lead a lesson on Japanese origami.

Lulu and Claire taught the kids the numbers 1-10 in German and guided them through a game of   hopscotch.

It was a fun way to kick off Project Week!
