 Exploring the Spanish-speaking World - Day 5

"For our project we participated in three different dance classes, tried Spanish food, and hit a piñata. It was very enjoyable and entertaining, and a great way to end project week! We learned a lot about Spanish and Latin American cultures while experiencing many new things as a group!"

Exploring the Spanish-speaking World - Day 4

Exploring the Spanish-speaking World: Day 4

"The One Day Project "Exploring the Spanish-speaking World" was a very fun, enjoyable class and I learned a lot of new things. We started the morning with an introduction and were taught where Spanish is spoken. We then watched a Netflix episode on a certain type of taco, the "cochinita" which was very interesting. Then, we learned three dances from teachers on Zoom which was a very fun time. To add to the fun, we did the limbo and played the piñata game. The day ended with very delicious tacos with chips and salsa. Today was a great experience that I will remember." - Matt Babineau

Day 3 - Exploring the Spanish-speaking World

 Day 3 - Exploring the Spanish-speaking World

"In this cultural study of Spanish-speaking countries, we learned about the eating and trading habits of several regions, including Mexico, through a documentary. Then we listened to several Spanish songs and learned a dance. I think these dances are a combination of local traditional music, Celtic music and modern pop music to a certain extent, and I like them very much." - Ruifeng (Rain) Zhuang

Day One - Exploring the Spanish-speaking World

"Throughout the day, the project “Exploring the Spanish-speaking World” explored many different components of Hispanic culture. This included different foods, typical beverages, songs, and dances. To begin, we discussed and spoke about our experiences with the culture. Then we watched a show called "Taco Chronicles" and ate some different treats. After, we took three dance classes with three different local teachers. Towards the end of the day we had a fiesta which included a piñata, the limbo and tasty tacos. We had a great first day and can’t wait for the rest of project week."
