Board Games: Day 5

Today we collaborated with the chess group and we were playing chess and some continued to play board games. Patrick dominated hog escape today winning  2 out of the 3 games played but on the other hand Tyler was struggling just to stay in the game.

Hog Escape was by far the biggest hit of the week!

Congrats to Taylor who is the ultimate winner from the week!!! Buffalo Chicken Dip will be delivered to her in Rice House next week!

Board Games: Day 4

Today kids in our group continued to develop and finish up their board games, working to find out what really makes a board game attractive to a player.

We also began testing them out by playing with other classmates and making edits based on feedback form other classmates. Along with this, we continued to play board games like Settlers of Catan, Anomia, and Clue, working to figure out which strategies were best for winning each game as well as using these games to influence our own board games.

Students finalized their own board games including: Hog Escape, Frog Master, Teacher Trivia, Race to the Lunch Line, and NHS Clue

Board Games: Day 2

We started our day finishing some board games from yesterday, including to intense (and lengthy) games of Monopoly. Next, some of us played classic games like Yahtzee, while others in the group played more contemporary games, such as Settlers of Catan. Prior to lunch, we started to brainstorm our own ideas for potential games we could create ourselves. We did this by looking at some common themes in these games and what made them fun to play, such as skill, strategy, and luck. Finally, we finished the day by taking advantage of the amazing weather and moved outside for a cookout and a cornhole tournament!

Zach and Jack were the Corn hole champtions!
