Day 3...Another blessing!

Day 3 was another blessing for the students participating in A Practical Retreat. They are pros now at mindful eating, sliding comfortably into the practice of a slower pace at the breakfast table, minus many of the "normal" distractions.

Our physical practice today took place at the new Sacred Waters Yoga studio at Mills Falls in Meredith, which is only 15 minutes away. We practiced in the new loft studio overlooking Lake Winnipesaukee. The radiant heat in the ceiling panels was a nice complement to the slow flow style of Christina, the owner and manager of the studio, who led today's class. The gentle style was a nice contrast to the work we did yesterday at Bikram.

Christina finished our practice playing the crystal singing bowls. The high pitched tones of the bowls, specifically designed to resonate against the subtle energy centers of our bodies, was a powerful experience and there were many different reactions. For some it was delightful, others found it offensive, and some were lulled to sleep. It is a great reminder that we are all different, each with our own unique likes and dislikes, strengths and attractions.

Later in the afternoon, we headed north on 93 to Plymouth. After a few errands in town, we made our way to the Poco Day Spa. Don't tell anyone, but we had a great time.  Some got their nails done, others had massages. Oh what fun it is to ride a minibus to Plymouth!!!

Tomorrow's plans are up in the air. The weather doesn't look good for Boston, and that is where we are suppose to be going. Oh well, one of our practices this week is letting go and moving on. It is a great stress management tool and why get stuck on something you can't control. We have a Plan B, but you'll have to check back tomorrow to see if we need to use it!
