First full day at Good Will-Hinckley School

Bloggers Day 2

Today was our first full day at the Good Will Hinckley School. We were introduced to the museum on campus. A museum of a museum, it houses three floors of taxidermy. The majority of the animals are from the turn of the century, collected primarily by L.C. Bates. The museum also has a marlin  caught and donated by Ernest Hemingway. What we did for the museum was prepare crafts for visiting children. We then enjoyed lunch in the buffet-style cafeteria, mixing it up with the students. We split up into four different groups and went to different houses or dorms for dinner. The dinner was a family style, sit down dinner, as opposed to buffet style like at New Hampton. The food was great and the company was great too. We really got comfortable around some of the kids at GWHS and got to hear some of their stories. We look forward to “sugaring off” tomorrow, learning more about the process of making maple syrup!
