Lacrosse the Nations Nicaragua - Day 3

This morning we began at club chique where we played lacrosse in the morning with the children. We incorporated some of Coach Simon's drills which worked on hand-eye coordination. We also had played some competitive games. This was the last time we would see the children at club chique, and it was difficult. Some of our group members were fortunate enough to form relationships with these children, which made leaving difficult for both us and the children.

After playing lacrosse, we finished the painting job we had begun the day before in the classrooms. In the afternoon, we traveled to Club Hope, the other school that Lacrosse the Nations works with. Upon arriving, we began by painting the outside of one of the buildings with a vibrant teal color. The painting at Club Hope was more enjoyable for most of the group because we were able to cover much more area in much less time. Before the lacrosse practice, Carter decided to immerse himself with the young Nicaraguan children by joining them on the playground, which they found very funny. We then were able to play lacrosse with the new group, starting with many of the same drills that we did in the morning. We finished the practice with a Nica vs. North America game which resulted in a 5-3 victory by the visitors. The whole group was extremely impressed with the amount of skill displayed by the kids, especially Juan, one of the older kids in the program. Overall we had a great day full of fun in the sun!
