I awoke on-campus the morning of Monday, March 5th anticipating a long journey ahead. I put on my shorts and my sneakers and walked up to Lane Hall to participate in some much needed yoga. After yoga we shared some personal mementos and played some team building games to get to know each other better.
At lunch, we spoke to Kent Bicknell, a former NHS student, founder of Sant Bani School, and traveler to India more than 30 times. He gave us a lot of important advice on what to do and what to expect in India.
Later that evening we drove to the airport and boarded our long flight ahead of us.
We flew from Boston, to Dubai, to Chennai and at the end of almost 24 hours of travel, were greeted by Dan and Amy. They are former NHS faculty members who now work at the American International School of Chennai. We then boarded a big yellow bus that we will be traveling in this week that took us to our hotel to settle in for the night. We were all amazed at the smells, sounds, and colors of the city especially because it was 3 AM and so many people were awake! Looking forward to some sleep then a busy day tomorrow!
