Off the Grid at D Acres!

Today we spent the day at D’acres Farm located at Dorchester New Hampshire. We had a very lovely day, but most important we got a better idea what does living of the land mean. It requires a lot more planning and hand labor, but one of the most important things is patience. There is no rush, the benefit of this is that you can organize your place and yourself better, and the more organized you are the better you will live of the land due to all the works and systems.

We arrived at the farm at around 9 am and left at 4 pm, we learned and helped the people who live at the farm all day. Later at noonwe had lunch and I can tell you that the food we had was very good, I had like 2 months since I didn’t have good food. We had potatoes, rice and pork which was tasty and nice. While having lunch the people who live at the farm explained us why they decided to live of the land, and the differences between natural farm food vs the food you get at a grocery store. We had a good time chopping wood and learning what type of systems do they use. Finally we got in the car and drove back to school.
