Ice Fishing Day 1

After a classroom orientation session, we made a climb up to get a view of the entire Squam Lake watershed.

We made our way to the ice just before lunch. Total ice depth measuring about 15-18 inches. Temps approaching 60 degrees.

The staff at the Squam Lakes Science Center introduced two fishing methods: Ice rods (jigging) and setting traps (tip ups).

Com practicing his jigging.

Timmy's haul started small but grew throughout the day.

Sydney and Timmy kickin' it in the "living room".
