On the third day of our project week we started off by visiting the State House in Concord, NH.

There, we met our tour guide Virginia Drew. Mrs. Drew showed us around the state house and brought us to the opening remarks of the weekly house session. This included an opening prayer, the Pledge of Allegiance, National Anthem, and a short speech given by the Speaker of the House pertaining to the Coronavirus.

Within the next 48 hours the House will vote on over 500 bills and amendments to bills. One of which was on the legal age of marriage in New Hampshire.

Mrs. Drew then brought us to the executive council's chamber where we met with Governor Sununu prior to the start of the executive council meeting. Even getting some live entertainment from a local artist!

On our way out we ran into class of '71 graduate, Mr. George Copadis, the Commissioner of NH Employment Security. We look forward to seeing him at the Bicentennial Celebration!

Representative of Manchester, Mr. Willis Griffith took time out of his busy day to talk to us about a number of bills he would be proposing later that day. Mr. Griffith is as well the New Hampton soccer coach.

After we got lunch at Public Works Cafe, we walked to the New Hampshire Historical Museum where we wrapped up our field trip by walking through learning interesting facts about NH.
