NYU Entrepreneurship Festival! Day 1

Today’s day started with a walk to a small cafe where we got breakfast and worked on our group projects. After our breakfast, we got to explore the city before our afternoon fair at NYU. Today’s NYU entrepreneurship fair had many opportunities to get business advice for our proposed start ups. The group even had the opportunity to watch a presentation given by one of the Ben and Jerries Co. founder. We also browsed the various tables where some NYU students were promoting their startups. We ended the festival day by attending a few roundtables with students from the business school, and listened to a panel of female founders talk about their experience founding a business in a male dominated workplace. At the end of the day, we stopped at an indoor food court with kiosks for different types of food, then returned to the hotel to finish our presentations for our own business ideas.

NYU Engineering Lab and the Law of Entrepreneurship

Today we visited the NYU polytechnic institute, where we met Tim and a few other entrepreneurs who explained to us their story of how they became an entrepreneur. After the meeting, we spent time walking around beautiful New York, taking time to roam around Manhattan and shop at the stores. Later in the day, we went to the Ellen's Stardust Diner, which was quite the experience. Live entertainment and a phenomenal meal, what more can you ask for? Following our beautiful stay at the Stardust, we proceeded our night by attending a meeting with Tim and his team at a Law Firm where a lawyer talked to us about the legal constraints of starting a company. Our night ended shortly after the talk, we got back to the hotel with enough time to get some good rest for the big day tomorrow.

Stink Studios, NYU ELab and More

Today in Entrepreneurship, we had a busy day. In the morning, we split into 3 groups and came up with a product for our business plans. Then in the afternoon we visited Stink Studios, an advertisement company, and learned how they create their ads. It was very interesting how much though goes into where the advertisement is posted and whom the advertisement is supposed to target. Our last activity of the day was going to the NYU Entrepreneurship lab. We met Tim there and were given a tour. After the tour, we were able to talk with a mentor at the Entrepreneurship lab, who went into depth about the important aspects of creating a startup, creating a market demanding product, and the ways NYU teaches and helps its students in starting their own business.

New York, Here We Come!

Today is the fourth of March which is the start day of the project week. Our group met behind the rink and got on a huge bus. After 2 hours drive, we arrived the bus station in Boston and soon we were driven to New York City and finally arrived there in the afternoon. After a short break in the hotel, we met Tim who was graduated from New Hampton School in 2015 and became a student in the galleton of new york university. He talked about his experiences of entrepreneurship which made us have a much better understanding of the company, markets and basic principles. Overall, it was a wonderful day!
