Off-Campus Project Guide 2015

It's September 1st, and tomorrow students arrive on campus ready to begin a new year at New Hampton School. Although the year may be just getting under way, and September may seem too early to be thinking about Project Week in March, the truth is many of us have been planning projects since May. I am very excited to share the results of this planning with our students and families this week during registration, but you can be one of the first to learn about the available off-campus projects by reading the 2015 Off-Campus Project Guide now!

Due to the significant logistics involved in planning and executing our off-campus projects, which we define as any project involving a flight, we wanted to give our students and families as much advanced information as possible about our off-campus offerings this year. We have 5 domestic options that include projects to Washington DC, Nashville, Seattle, Santa Cruz, and Puerto Rico. We also have have 3 potential international projects to Iceland, Italy, and Panama. Please read through the Project Guide for more information about the Essential Questions, logistics, and costs of these projects.

There will be many more on- and near-campus projects being proposed this fall, so don't worry if you don't see something that strikes your fancy in this guide. In fact, I encourage you to submit project ideas to me as soon as possible so that I can get them on The Board and connect you with other students and faculty that share your passions. Please check out all of the available resources on the blog, and don't hesitate to ask questions on how you can sign up for an off-campus project or help plan one on-campus.

Wishing everyone a great start to the year,

Mr. Joslin
