The Belize Squad!!!
We are so excited to start our Project Week adventure in Belize in just a few short weeks! We are ready to explore and discover a culture with a rich history, all the while experiencing and investigating Belize's diverse tropical ecosystems.
Our essential question is:
- How has Belize’s culture been shaped by its environment and history?
Our competencies are:
- Competency 1: By exploring Mayan ruins, and visiting Mayan sites, students will analyze how Belize’s culture is influenced by its History.
- Competency 2: By meeting with the Garifuna people, students will analyze how they have held onto their ancient values and traditions.
- Competency 3: Students will explore the coral reef and analyze the impact of global warming on Belize’s culture and environment.
- Competency 4: Students will observe coral and marine life and explain how they impact Belize’s economy and culture.
