Bicentennial Podcast Episode #3: Alumni Conversations (Part 2)

Bicentennial Podcast: Project Week 2020

We continued on our third day to collect the final alumni stories for our podcast.  We travelled down to the seaport to speak with Ms. Kaleigh Teague, Class of '10.  Kaleigh continues to foster strong relationships with the friends she met at New Hampton.  She told us about the connections she made with trusted adults, both teachers and house parents, that allowed her to grow into a determined and confident student.

Next we headed to the 28th floor of One International Place to meet with Mr. Eric Philippi, Class of '59.  Eric gave great insight into former headmaster Bud Moore and how his mentorship impacted him as a young boy at NHS.  The influence continued into adulthood and Eric is glad to give back to New Hampton.

Mr. Philippi showed us his office and the incredible view of Boston Harbor.  The painting of the seaplane holds special importance to him.  It serves as a daily reminder of his time served in the military and the relationships he made along the way, specifically Bud Moore.

Lastly, we visited Warner, NH and the beautiful home of Elibet Moore Chase '75.  She gave us a unique perspective of life at New Hampton as the daughter of Headmaster Bud Moore. Elibet was among the first female students to join our campus when NHS went co-ed again in 1970. She greeted us with freshly baked chocolate chip cookies and tea!
