Today was our first day of Building a Shed for 2017 Project Week. We started bright and early in the cafe and then ventured to the maintenance department and met the crew. The crew that we worked with today was Justin, John and Tim. Before lunch we split into groups of 3 or 4 and learned how to use the power tools correctly. We discovered quickly that safety was going to be a key factor while building the sheds. We came back from lunch and mapped out the locations of the sheds. We returned after lunch and started to construct the bases of the sheds. There were different groups cuttings, and constructing the base in order to save time. Due to the weather conditions we had to move all the material inside in order to secure that the material would be safe. Justin's key theme of the day was of course safety, but also "time is money".
